A Blog I read today....

Sombra's Blog

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:17-20

These are strong words written by my Lord. Where did we get the idea that He doesn't want us to celebrate the Feasts anymore? or celebrate the Sabbath? I mean He gives us very specific instructions on how to celebrate the Feasts and the Sabbath...but nowhere can I find where it says we are to stop. I think about church today that are trying to "fit in" and be "relevant" in today's world...that to me is walking on very dangerous ground...I'm in a hunt to find other Torah Followers in Calgary, not many Christians are willing to entertain these thoughts. I wonder if I'll lose friends...my support groups...ah well, we'll deal with that when it comes to it! Now go back up and read Sombra's Post! Go on, clink on the link! It even has a nice song!!

Hey LD. While I might not be in the same place as you spiritually, you won't lose my friendship. True friends are there to support and encourage even if we aren't exactly the same. If you are doing what you feel God has led you to, then you can't go wrong... Kwim?

I totally DO know what you mean...thanks! I mean really, no one is on the same page in every area of life at the same time anyhow...but these kind of lifestyle changes just get you wondering...lol

Hey LD,
I just read your last post and Sombra's Blog post as well as your comment and I just wanted to tell you that you are loved and accepted. If you are feeling convicted in these areas, then that is your personal conviction. I don't believe you'll lose any friends over it, but if you do, your eyes will be opened to whom God truly dwells in. I do not believe this should lead friendships to cease. Keep digging and praying, seeking God and He will reveal to you more and more. As long as you keep Jesus front and center, you will be ok. Your accepted here:)

totally agree with Carlee & Lisa - & i think this is a subject worthy of discussion. :)
i think we all have areas where we don't align exactly with one another... ((hugs))

thanks guys! I was feeling so overwhelmed with feelings of betrayal, not by people but by the church. How much is truly man's doctine and how much is what God is saying?! You know? I think this is maybe why it feels like such a struggle sometimes to run the different ministry programs at church, you know?
Anyhow, you are so right Paige, we will likely never be aligned exactly, but diversity is good, it keeps us sharp about what we believe.

Hi Lori-Dawn
I'm Sharon Whelan and I've linked to your blog through the Roots Homeschool Directory. I have just returned to Roots after being away for awhile. I had sometime and I was looking through the directory and came upon your blogsite. Anyways we are Torah observant believers here in Calgary. I believe I've seen your postings on HS Activities Yahoo list as well. My family have been walking the biblical feasts, etc, returning to the roots of our faith for 5/6 years now. Although I attend the Roots North Support Group and won't get to meet you if you attend the South group, I'd love to have tea/coffee one afternoon/morning to connect. I've been through similar things that your blog talks about, so maybe I can give you some encouragement. You can reach me through the Roots Directory if your interested. May our Father bless you as you discover the blessings He has in store for you.

Losing friends.. for those who have not walked this walk, they don't know, but honestly, when you're following God, you love even those friends who reject you because you follow the Word of God, and so it's not as devastatingly painful as you'd expect it to be. Adonai always provides. And I'm humbly honoured that you linked to my blog..

I've just lost my best friend after 6 years of us going back and forth about Torah. Was it either of our fault? no, it was just that she's not ready to hear what I'm saying, and I'm to far down the road to stop saying what I'm saying.
